Akama is a solitary island, set in the middle of an unlimited ocean, and the site of a magical phenomenon known as The Rift. It has been the source of infinite power to mankind, through mysterious beings known as the Ateyan. Capable of performing amazing and wonderful magical feats, they have lived alongside humanity for quite a few centuries - until something shattered this harmony. Ateyan disappeared, becoming a speck of light on a mostly deserted island. Human civilizations collapsed, and the great industrial cities of the past were rebuilt by nature. Generations passed in the shadow of ancient splendor. Then something strange happened: The Rift began to take over the island, threatening the existence of the remnants of humanity.
